Browsing without an account

  • Your chosen language and some preferences (arrival profile, completed challenges) are stored only in your browser (localStorage).
  • The site uses no advertising cookies or third-party profiling tools.

Statistics cookies (Google Analytics)

  • Only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner does the site load Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) for aggregate visit statistics: pages viewed, device type and approximate origin. Without consent Google's script is not loaded.
  • Google Analytics uses the _ga and _ga_* cookies; we send no personal data (name, email, form contents) and advertising features are disabled.
  • Your choice is stored in your browser and you can change it at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page; if you withdraw consent the _ga cookies are deleted.

With an account

  • Email and password (or Google sign-in) to authenticate you; the session is kept in your browser.
  • Profile data you enter: name, university, course, year, area.
  • Favourites, checklist progress, followed communities, challenges, exchange languages, private walking routes and notification preferences.
  • This data is visible only to you; editors access content only for moderation.

Location, navigation and camera

If you allow location access, GPS coordinates are used on your device for the map and AR navigation. The camera feed and compass data are not uploaded or stored by the site.

When you request a walking, cycling or driving route, start, destination and any waypoint coordinates are sent to the OSRM routing service on FOSSGIS servers, using OpenStreetMap data. Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap.

If you choose bus/train, the coordinates needed for the route are forwarded server-side to Google Maps. Consult the external providers’ privacy notices for their processing; this page does not assert unverified retention periods or logging practices.

Student Card waiting list and partner requests

  • Waiting list: email, declared profile (studying in Rovigo, living in Rovigo, Rovigo resident studying elsewhere), university or city of study if given, language, date you accepted this notice and, only if you tick the optional box, consent to promotional messages with its date. Purpose: notifying you of the card launch. With an account you can remove yourself at any time from the card page.
  • Partner requests: business name, category, contact person, email, phone and message. Purpose: getting back to the interested business.
  • To limit automated submissions we store a hashed fingerprint of the IP address, not the address itself. Only administrators can view this data.

User content and moderation

Meetups, study groups, board listings and notices you publish are visible according to each section's rules; editors moderate them. To publish we record the date you accepted the rules and declared you are 18+. Texts with phone numbers, emails, IBANs or links are automatically held for review.

Reports

When you report content we store the reason, an optional note and your account, visible only to editors. The reported person does not see who reported.

“Going”, participations and contact requests

Other users only see aggregate “Going” counts; in meetups and groups members only see other members' first names. On the board your email is shown to the listing author, or to the person who wrote to you, only after the contact request is accepted.

Buddy program

Application with languages, course, university, arrival date or year of study, availability and notes: only you and the editors, who match by hand, can see it. Only with an active match do the two members see each other's first name and email. Feedback is visible only to editors; if you flag a problem it becomes a report.

Location for checks

To report study room crowding (within 300 m) and for partner check-ins (within 150 m) the distance is calculated only on your device: your location is never sent or stored.

Study room reports, check-ins and points

We store crowding level and Wi-Fi with a timestamp, shown to others only in aggregate. Partner check-ins store the deal and date; partners only see aggregate statistics, with university or course only for groups of at least 5 people. Points are recorded for the course leaderboard, which shows no names.

Weekly digest

The “Your weekend” digest is an in-app notification, on by default and switchable off in your profile; it uses your profile interests and course. Email delivery happens only with your explicit consent, whose date we store; every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. We keep a weekly log to avoid duplicate sends.

Retention

Data linked to your account is kept as long as the account exists. Board listings expire after 30 days unless renewed, study groups are archived on their end date, past meetups are no longer shown. When you delete your account we erase your personal data; public content you created is removed and reports or proposed events remain without reference to you.

Your rights

From your profile you can download all your data as JSON (access and portability) and delete your account (erasure). For rectification, objection, restriction or other GDPR requests write to info@bevolve.it. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante).
